The program draws on the principles of transformative learning. According to Knud Illeris, one of the most important theorists on learning, integrated learning, both regarding children-adolescents adults, is the one that includes the following interactive dimensions: a) Content: It refers to the subject of learning. Content includes knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as the attitudes and values acquired through the learning process. It also includes educational methods and practices. In addition, Illeris aptly integrates content and inquiries that relate to transformative learning, ie critical reassessment of dysfunctional, stereotypical assumptions and beliefs. b) Motivation and Teacher-Learner Relationships: It concerns emotional involvement of learners during the learning process, and especially in
their relationships with teachers, as well as the elements of motivation, instigation,
the development of interest, disposition and commitment to learning. The SLP provides highly specialised knowledge and critical awareness in its subject matter. It helps develop specialised problem-solving skills required in innovation of the field. It also contains content and activities that lead to manage and transform work or study contexts that are complex, unpredictable and require new strategic approaches. The students are asked to take responsibility for contributing to professional knowledge and practice.
The Program’s objective is to allow participants to understand the multiple dimensions of integrated teaching in depth (content, instigation, teacher-pupil relationships, relation to the social context) and to enable them to apply integrated teachings within the educational context. At the same time, the Programme offers examples and proper practices.
