Nanoscience for teachers : appliances in Chemistry, Medicine and Environmental sciences
It is aimed for teachers from all the educational stages with an English B1 level (minimum) as all the materials are developed in this language. It aims for Teachers´ knowledge acquisition and training on Nanoscience: appliances, methodological tools , contextualization and scientific criteria development.
Unit I: Nanoscience foundations
Unit II: Nanoscience in the chemistry field: nano-materials and nano-devices
Unit III: Observing and characterizing methods in nanoscience
Unit IV: Nanoscience appliance in medicine
Unit V: Nanoscience appliance in environmental settings
Unit VI: Social implications. Risks, cautions and nanoscience regulation
• To understand and assimilate concepts and specific nanoscience terminology
• To Contextualize nanoscience appliances.
• To know how to use methodological tools and their appliance to problems solving in chemistry, medicine or environmental sciences using nanoscience concepts.
• Concrete information acquisition on how nano-structures are characterized and its appliance for sensors manufacture to use in medicine, chemistry and environmental sciences.
• To develop scientific and independent criteria for decision making in regards to nanoscience appliances in medicine, chemistry and environmental sciences.
• To Contextualize nanoscience in society, evaluating its positive contributions and possible environmental risks.
The methodology of the course is the one of the UNED, based on distance learning.Contents are on the "aLF" platform along with autoevaluative tasks. Additional use of the listed books on the website during the course.
